Kanye West has quite literally hunkered down at a stadium in Atlanta to finish recording his delayed Donda album – and he’s not leaving until it’s done, apparently.
The Gold Digger rapper was expected to release his latest album, Donda, on Friday after hosting a listening event at the Mercedes Benz Stadium the previous evening.
However, as the clock struck midnight on Friday, Donda was nowhere to be seen on streaming services leaving fans who were anticipating the new music disappointed.
According to TMZ, Kanye, 44, hasn’t actually left the stadium where the listening party took place and has actually set up home with a makeshift studio, living quarters and even a chef to dish out fresh meals for the rapper and his team.
It makes sense that the All Of The Lights hitmaker has made the MBS his temporary home, as photos emerged of Kanye attending the Atlanta United soccer game at the stadium on Saturday wearing the exact same red outfit he wore to the listening event.
Yes, Kanye sat among football fans wearing the brown mesh mask he donned at the Donda party.
Sources told the publication that Kanye was so inspired by the crowds that he wanted to stay in Atlanta, where he was born, to put the finishing touches to the album. It’s not known if the musician is still adding new tracks to the record or if he’s simply in the mixing and mastering stages.
Donda features a star-studded list of guest features, including Travis Scott, Pusha T and Lil Baby.
Most notably, it saw Kanye reunite with his longtime friend and collaborator Jay Z after tensions in recent years.
During his verse on the track, Jay Z hinted that he and Kanye could team for the much-anticipated Watch The Throne sequel, 10 years after the release of their iconic first collaborative album.
Elsewhere on Donda, which is dedicated to Kanye’s late mother Donda West, Kanye opened up about ‘losing his family’ in reference to his divorce from wife Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares children; North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
