Wyatt has a message for his followers (Picture: WWE)
Bray Wyatt has dropped another cryptic message on Twitter after the latest round of WWE releases.
The former world champion, who was shockingly let go by Vince McMahon’s company at the end of July, is yet to reveal his next move but he’s continuing to keep people guessing after his noncompete clause expired last month.
On Thursday, Wyatt – now going by his real name Windham – shared a typically vague and mysterious post on social media, as he wrote: ‘What do we do now? We wait for the right place. We wait for the right time.
‘Then we turn Rome to Ashes. “Groveling in the muck of avarice” I believe in you too (sic)’
The tweet also included a snake emoji, and the whole message has sent fans wild with plenty of speculation about what it means.
Of course, the most obvious reference seems to be simply Thursday’s surprising departures, with Keith Lee, Nia Jax, Eva Marie, Ember Moon and more all being let go.
However, it seems things could go a little deeper than that – which is usually the case with The Fiend’s creator.
As several followers have pointed out, All Elite Wrestling star Malakai Black mentioned Julius Cesar in his promo on the last show, which has everyone wondering if that’s the former Wyatt Family leader’s next destination.
Meanwhile, the phrase ‘muck of avarice’ could also hold some significance, as the line was famously uttered by Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts – who is also now part of AEW – during a promo before he faced Ted DiBiase at WrestleMania 6.
He said at the time: ‘Damien and I remember all the times you made people grovel for your money. This time, you’ll be the one that’s humiliated, and this time, you will be the one that grovels for the money.
‘And how appropriate, that the money you grovel for is your very own. A victim of your own greed, wallowing in the muck of avarice.’
Nothing Windham does seems to be by accident – and it will be fascinating to see what this latest message means.
