EASTENDERS fans are fuming after serial killer Lucas Johnson watched Patrick Trueman collapse but refused to call 999.
In tonight’s episode, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) found out her possible dad – Patrick (Rudolph Walker) has been taking her son Raymond to spend time with his dad Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Patrick collapsed in dramatic scenes this evening
The episode opened with Denise and copper Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) enjoying a full fry-up after recently rekindling their romance.
Patrick popped down to the kitchen and offered to take Raymond out for the day, but Denise hesitated and said the boy would be better off with her at the salon.
Kim who was also in the kitchen revealed Jack had warned Phil to stay away from Raymond, which concerned Patrick who had set up an arrangement with Walford’s strongman.
Phil agreed to protect Denise from her ex Lucas if Patrick brought Raymond around to spend time with him.
Denise was furious to learn about Patrick’s secret meetings with Phil
Later, he managed to get Raymond out for a quick kick about with Phil who admitted he let Jack think he would stay away from his son because of his arrangement with Patrick.
Overcome with the stress of it all, a clearly ill Patrick rushed to sit down as Phil asked “are you alright”.
But unbeknownst to Patrick, Kim spotted the trio and ran home to tell Denise.
She confronted Patrick who tried to explain that he was doing it for her protection, but she didn’t want to hear it and stormed off to Jack’s with Raymond.
Evil Lucas then showed up at their home
A distraught Patrick was left home alone when he got a knock on the door and it turned out to be the killer, Lucas.
He forced his way into the house which lead to a heated confrontation.
“What you are and what you always will be is pure, pure evil,” Patrick yelled at Lucas as he was getting more worked up.
“If I was a stronger man, I would’ve wiped you clean, clean off this earth and nobody would’ve shared a single tear for you.”
The pair got into a fiery altercation
He then challenged Lucas to “hit me” as the serial killer took a step towards him.
But as he screamed “c’mon, c’mon hit me now”, Patrick stopped and then collapsed into the armchair.
In what looked to be like a stroke, Lucas approached him to ask “what is it, Patrick. Patrick?”.
Lucas instinctively pulled out his mobile to call 999 but then stopped when he realised things would be much better for him if Patrick was dead.
A struggling Patrick, looked up pleadingly to Lucas who put his phone down.
Lucas went to call 999 but then changed his mind
EastEnders viewers could not believe Lucas could be so cold blooded and rushed to Twitter to condemn his actions.
One Twitter user wrote: “Lucas was never going to call an ambulance…he’s pure evil! Why did #EastEnders have to bring him back?”
A second added: “I knew Lucas was evil but why do you have to let old man Patrick die in front of you like that.”
And a third said: “IF LUCAS LEAVES PATRICK THERE ALONE I AM NEVER WATCHING AGAIN”
