EMMERDALE is bringing back a major beloved character in the coming weeks, boss Jane Hudson has revealed.
The executive producer has teased that viewers can expect a “much loved” legend returning to the village – and the actor or actress has already started filming.
A familiar face will be returning to the village
Speaking at a 2021 preview to The Sun, Jane said: “We have got a very much loved character coming back to the village.
“They are fantastic, they light up the screen. They have already returned to shooting.
“We are massively excited so look forward to a much-loved face returning soon.”
The Sun can confirm the returning face will be revealed within the next few weeks.

The cast will follow all safety precautions to make sure they don’t spread Covid-19
She said: “We are still shooting – we stood down in March as they were no safety procedures in place.
“We returned in May and our strict procedures are safe – we have social distancing and masks. Everyone is glad to be on set so we will continue. It is so crucial that people have something familiar and it’s escapism. Something you can rely to be there.
“Soaps are invaluable – all of them. We’re all there making sure viewers have that place to escape to for a night. We are shooting, that will continue, touch wood!”
