Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford has appeared to confirm she’s lost her job at Debenhams as the company collapses.
It was announced earlier this week that thousands of people were at risk of losing their employment at the company, which is set to be liquidated in the new year after rescue talks with JD Sports fell through.
Television personality Sophie shared a picture of herself and another colleague stood outside one of the branches.
‘We might be going but we are going with a smile #debenhams,’ she captioned the snap on Instagram.
Fans were quick to comment on Sophie’s photo and offered messages of support.
‘Sorry to hear that, sure you and your brother will have ye’re own tv show soon.. yee’ll be sorted,’ one wrote.
Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘Feel so sad for everyone loosing their jobs, stay strong x.’
On Tuesday, the department store chain revealed it had already cut thousands of roles after falling into administration, but said the remaining 12,000 jobs are now at risk due to the looming liquidation.

It came hours after rival Arcadia Group, which runs brands including Topshop, Burton and Dorothy Perkins, confirmed that 13,000 roles are at risk after it tumbled into administration.
It adds to more than 250,000 job losses or potential redundancies announced since the start of the pandemic.
Debenhams has been a mainstay on UK high streets for 242 years, with William Clark opening a drapers store in 1778 on 44 Wigmore Street in central London, selling expensive fabrics, bonnets, gloves and parasols.
It will continue to trade both online and through its 124 stores across the UK, with all those in England opening following the lifting of the lockdown today, December 2.
