I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Giovanna Fletcher has admitted she would secretly break down in tears in camp – because she didn’t want her kids to see her cry.
The mum-of-three was crowned champion on Friday night, after winning fans over with her upbeat personality and can-do attitude in the face of grim bushtucker trials, horrible weather and lack of food.
But Giovanna has now revealed she deliberately kept most of her low moments away from the cameras, for fear of upsetting her sons Buzz, six, Buddy, four, and Max, two, who were watching back at home.
She told The Sun: ‘Any moments that were hard I just thought of my sons, it kept me going.
‘I didn’t want to let them think I was scared with a snake on my head or when I was going over the side of the cliff. I just did it without overthinking it or letting fear take over.’
‘There were moments in the castle where I’d be lying in bed imagining their smiley faces and thinking about them,’ Giovanna added.

‘I had to immerse myself in the TV show and put family life in a little box. I didn’t want to cry the whole time or what was the point?’
The only time she majorly broke was during a heartbreaking trial day where campmates failed to win her letter from home – causing her to break down in tears while still trying to keep positive.
Her efforts were all worth it though, and as 10million viewers tuned in, she was named the first ever Queen Of The Castle, beating Jordan North and Vernon Kay.

Giovanna then returned home for an emotional reunion with her husband Tom, and three boys.
She hopes that her time on the series proves ‘mums can do anything’.
Speaking to Vick Hope on The Daily Drop after her win, Giovanna said: ‘Without mums nothing else is possible.
‘So I feel like I showed that mums can do anything and mostly I hope I made my kids proud. I guess I’ll find that out when I get home.’
Speaking about being reunited with her children soon, Giovanna said: ‘I can just imagine their little faces now. I imagine the older two have stayed up and watched. They’re not going to believe it.’
