Married at First Sight Australia star Nic Jovanovic has revealed he now works with testicular cancer charities after being diagnosed for a second time while filming.
Jovanovic, 29, revealed that he learned that he had testicular cancer while filming the reality TV show back in early 2019.
At the time, he chose not to disclose the news to his wife Cyrell Paule, as well as other contestants. He had to undergo chemotherapy and have a teste removed during airing.
This marked his second bout with the disease, after his first came when he was just 24.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: ‘It was such a huge blow for me when I found out I had been diagnosed with testicular cancer for a second time.
‘We were currently filming the final dinner party and it was a weird feeling, knowing that in the next few days I was going in for surgery to finally beat it.’
Jovanovic, who said his health is now ‘great’, decided to keep the news secret from everyone on the show.

He said: ‘I decided not to bring it up to anyone on the show and didn’t want to discuss it with any of the guys at the dinner party because I didn’t want anyone to stress about me and what I was about to go through.’
The reality star says he is now in great health and works with The Cancer Council and the Movember Foundation to encourage guys ‘not put things off and to make sure if you feel something is off, go and get checked.’
He noted that he had grown ‘so much’ as a person since Married at First Sight Australia ended, saying watching the show helped him see how he used to handle situations. He added he is better for it.
Of his marriage to Cyrell, he added: ‘I always tried to put Cyrell first and gave the experiment my all.
‘It was such a huge commitment and I knew it was going to be huge part of my life. I did not want any regrets and I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to find love’
