One attendee at the ceremony who caught people’s attention across the world was former presidential candidate Sanders, who was photographed looking especially cosy in a large coat and mittens.
In a hilarious post shared on social media, Anderson Photoshopped the picture of the Democratic politician at the inauguration into a scene from Sex Education, where her character, sex therapist Dr Jean Milburn, is talking to her son Otis (played by Asa Butterfield) about how he has been pretending to masturbate.
In the caption for her Sanders-themed post, she wrote: ‘Darling, I notice you’ve been pretending to multitask and I was wondering if you wanted to talk about it.’
As can be expected, Anderson’s version of the meme has caused quite a stir, with many finding it absolutely hysterical.
‘This is why she is my favourite person ever,’ one person tweeted.
Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric Effiong on the series, commented on Instagram with a series of cry-laughing emojis.
‘Omg you are hilarious,’ someone else remarked.
Last year, Netflix announced that Sex Education will officially be returning for a third season.

Despite being a fan-favourite on the series, Anderson previously revealed that she binned the script when it was first put forward to her.
‘I’m not really sure whether I thought ahead. When I first read it, I had not really responded to it,’ the actor said.
‘I’d kind of put it in the bin, and my partner suggested I take it out of the bin and look at it a bit more seriously.’
Fortunately for The Crown star, upon second reading, she found Sex Education ‘incredibly hilarious’. And the rest was history.
In December 2020, behind-the-scenes pictures from the set of Sex Education season three were released, showing several cast members wearing masks while working on the production.
In one of the images taken by Tanya Reynolds, who plays Lily in the show, Ncuti is sitting on a sofa while going over his lines. Bring on its return!
Sex Education is available to watch on Netflix.
