For Musicals Week on Strictly, the remaining couples in the competition performed dances inspired by musicals including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Waitress and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Andrew, who wrote the musical for the original 1986 production, was full of praise for their homage to the play.
‘That was fantastic,’ he wrote on Twitter, as he shared a clip of Bill and Oti on the dancefloor.
‘Huge well done @BillBailey and @OtiMabuse! – #TeamALW.’
Tonight’s show opened with a dazzling musicals-themed group dance by the professional dancers, with Johannes Radebe taking centre stage as he, Gorka Marquez and Giovanni Pernice dressed in drag to perform a tribute to Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Some fans described it as the ‘one of the best opening dances ever’ while others applauded Johannes for ‘stealing the show’.
‘I could watch an entire hour of Johannes, Gio and Gorka doing a Priscilla tribute!’ one viewer tweeted.
‘Johannes has just stolen the show, that’s all, goodnight,’ another remarked.
Meanwhile, Ranvir Singh and Giovanni sizzled on the dancefloor yet again with their romantic Viennese Waltz, leaving judge Motsi in tears.
‘I feel like you have finally come into you,’ Motsi told Ranvir. ‘Last week I asked for a little surprise and I did get a little surprise, it was such a magic moment, well done.’
The Strictly Come Dancing results show returns tomorrow at 7.30pm on BBC One.
