Shortly after Leah, 51, made her debut as guest host on The Wendy Williams Show on Tuesday, the show announced that Whitney, 39, and Sherri, 54, have been selected to also fill in for Wendy, 57, as she deals with health issues.
Comedian Whitney will temporarily take over the hosting duties during the week of Monday, October 25 through Friday, October 29.
WHITNEY TAKES OVER
Speaking of the role, Whitney said in a press release: “In my opinion, nobody is more entertaining or authentic than Wendy Williams.
“As an avid fan, it is surreal to sit in for Wendy, but as someone who has been a guest on the show so many times, I feel confident that my relentless habit of speaking candidly, often to the point of self-sabotage, may go over well with her fans.”
She continued: “There are few places I’d feel as safe to be as unhinged and opinionated as on Wendy’s show and I am looking forward to burning many a bridge.
“Each episode I do will be in celebration of her fearlessness, and the lessons I’ve learned from her fearless feedback and advice.
“I’d like to do whatever I can to make her life easier while she recovers so she can come back stronger and more powerful than ever.”
SHERRI’S ‘SO EXCITED’
Dish Nation’s Sherri will then take over as host beginning on Monday, November 1 until Friday, November 5.
Sherri said: “I’m so excited to return to the Wendy Williams Show to host for a full week!
“I had such a great time when I hosted the show in 2019 and I’m flattered that Wendy and the producers put their trust in me to fill in again.
“I’m sending my love and well wishes out to her.”
PRAISE FOR LEAH
The guest hosts were announced after fans raved that Leah did an “amazing job” while filling in for Wendy.
As Leah’s first episode aired, hundreds of viewers flocked to Twitter to praise the star and said she “killed it” in her interim role.
“Leah remini is killing it as a guest host,” one gushed, while a second agreed: “Ohh they dance like butter on hot pancakes yes #leahremini#WendyWilliams is winning ratings!! Yes!”
“Good she’s already a doing a way better job….. keep @[email protected] who..????” another suggested.
WENDY’S HEALTH SCARE
Leah was the first person hired to fill in for Wendy as the show’s host struggles with ongoing health problems.
Wendy was previously rushed to the hospital in September.
The Sun was first to report that police received a 911 call from her building at 8 am about a “57-year-old female in need of psychiatric services.”
The Sun was also the first to report that the TV star had been “struggling with addiction” leading up to her hospitalization.
“Wendy was drinking every day, even while filming the show,” an insider previously revealed to The Sun.
As the host’s health complications continued, The Wendy Williams Show was postponed from its original return date of September 20th.
Earlier this month, the program’s Instagram page announced that the host will not be returning due to “serious complications.”
