Johnny Knoxville has laid down the gauntlet for the WWE Royal Rumble – and he’s gunning for Brock Lesnar.
The Jackass Forever star will be part of the legendary 30-man match at the huge event on January 29, and he insisted he’s working hard to prepare as he alluded to a pretty epic goal.
Appearing on WWE’s The Bump, he said: ‘I know what to expect – they should expect pain. I’ve been taking large truck tyres in my backyard and flipping them over the wall – about the weight of a Brock Lesnar.
‘My neighours are really upset, but i’m stronger than ever. I do it, like, six to eight hours a day. I want the WWE to clear out the first three rows of fans because I’m gonna be chucking guys into at least the second.’
When interviewer Kayla Braxton referenced Jackass’ giant hand stunt, Knoxville insisted he doesn’t need any props to get the job done in a wrestling ring.
‘I’ve got two giant hands right here. One for Brock, one for [Rey] Mysterio, and whoever else,’ he said, urging WWE to play his threat for anyone they like. ‘Play it for Brock and Roman Ruins or whatever his name is.’
While the reigning world champion isn’t typically in the match, there’s definitely precedent with SmackDown Women’s Champ Charlotte Flair in the 30-women bout at the same show, while Lesnar himself entered in 2020 while holding the Universal Title.
The stunt performer doesn’t seem worried about stepping into the world of larger than life characters and towering heavyweights, and he insisted he has ‘such little respect’ for the other 29 superstars who end up in the match.
‘I have such little respect for the other opponents in the ring,’ he smirked. ‘Honestly… everyone acts like it’s a big deal. It’s not gonna be a big deal. I might chuck guys into the rafters – not just the first three or four rows.’
And he insisted he’s not just looking to make up numbers – he’s got his eyes set on the ultimate prize and a moment of WrestleMania glory.
The winner of the Royal Rumble match gets a main event, world championship bout at the huge show in April – and Johnny wants to go all the way.
‘Not just an entrant – the winner of the 2022 Royal Rumble! World Champ! No, no, no – I’m confident,’ he said.
‘I have never been more confident of anything in my life that I will be in WrestleMania – that I am gonna be the last one in the ring in the Royal Rumble.’
WWE Royal Rumble airs Saturday, January 29 at 1am on the WWE Network.
