Ever pretend to propose to someone with a Haribo candy ring when you were a kid?
Well now you can harken back to those simpler times and do the real thing with an 18-carat yellow gold engagement ring worth about as much as a housing deposit.
Bespoke jewellery brand Taylor & Hart has designed a ruby-encrusted ring inspired by the classic red and yellow incarnation of the sweet after getting several requests for a Haribo ring that would stand the test of time.
The rose gold band is covered in 224 rubies and is topped with a 2.70 carat cabochon yellow sapphire.
The sapphire is nestled in an 18-carat yellow gold basket of 40 diamonds.
Kate Earlam-Charnley, Design Director at Taylor & Hart said: ‘With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to bring this brand-new design to life.

‘Combining custom cut rubies and a syrupy cabochon yellow sapphire, this ring is one of the most ambitious we’ve ever created and definitely one of the most original.’
Designed with a view to capturing the playful and fun sides of love, this sweet ring doesn’t come cheap.
Priced at £25,000, you could buy over 1.25million Haribo candy rings for the same price.

Kate added: ‘Made for the daydreamers, the hopeless romantics, those in search of something a little more pure and innocent, this ring is the perfect expression of love.
‘It’ll certainly make a great story while also saying “love is forever”. We can’t wait to hear “Yes” stories from our customers across the world!’
Like the idea of a sweet-inspired ring but fancy something a bit more low-key? Always preferred the green and white rings anyway?
