Simone Biles says she would NEVER let her daughter compete with USA Gymnastics after Larry Nassar scandal

SIMONE Biles has revealed she would never let her future daughter compete with USA Gymnastics after the Larry Nassar sex abuse scandal.

The four-time Olympic gold medalist opened up about USA Gymnastics in a Sunday interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes.

Biles, 23, was sexually abused by disgraced gymnastics doctor Nassar – along with hundreds of other young women.

When asked if she would let her future daughter be involved with USA Gymnastics – the National Governing Body of Gymnastics in the United States – she firmly said: “No.”

Her reasoning was that she “doesn’t feel comfortable enough.”

Biles explained: “Because they haven’t taken accountability for their actions and what they’ve done.

“And they haven’t ensured us that it’s never going to happen again.”

Nassar, 57, was sentenced to more than 175 years behind bars in 2018 after being convicted of abusing a large number of young women and children.

Biles also admitted: “There’s still a lot of questions that still need to be answered. Just who knew what, when?”

She denounced USA Gymnastics for having “failed so many athletes, and most of us underage” – and said: “You guys don’t think that’s a bigger problem?

“If that were me and I knew something I’d want it resolved immediately.”

“We bring them medals. We do our part,” Biles added. “You can’t do your part in return? It’s just, like, it’s sickening.”

Biles, who practices six days a week, has been training for the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics – which she plans to retire afterwards.

The gymnast recounted when the 2020 Olympics was postponed by the International Olympic Committee to 60 Minutes host Sharyn Elizabeth Alfonsi.

“I just sat there and I was like, ‘I really don’t know how I’m gonna do this. Like, another year out? I don’t think it’s possible for me at this point mentally,'” Biles said.

In a statement to CBS, Li Li Leung, the President and CEO of USA Gymnastics, responded to Biles’ interview and recognized “how deeply we have broken the trust of our athletes and community, and are working hard to build that trust back.

“Everything we do now is aimed at creating a safe, inclusive, and positive culture for everyone who participates in our sport,” Leung added.

“And while we know that this kind of meaningful and lasting culture change does not happen overnight, we will keep working toward that goal until every member feels supported, included, safe and empowered.”

Back in March 2020, when Biles celebrated her 23rd birthday, the gymnast took to Twitter to slam USA Gymnastics.

Responding to a birthday tweet from USAG, Biles wrote: “How about you amaze me and do the right thing… have an independent investigation.”
