To Help People Who Are Not Able To Print Out A Exceptional Certificate, French Baker Starts Printing Them On His Baguette Bags

With the numbers of COVID-19 cases getting significantly higher each day, on October 30, France was put back on lockdown. Now, whenever a person living in France has to leave their home, they must download or print out an exceptional certificate in order to prove the necessity of their trip. Turns out, this one bakery called “Boulangerie Saint-Fiacre” found a way to use this new rule for their own and their customers’ benefit.

Teddy Rousselot, the owner of Boulangerie Saint-Fiacre located in France, came up with a pretty genius idea—he decided to start printing exceptional certificates on the back of his baguette bags. “Customers no longer came, others did not have their certificate to come to the bakery,” Teddy explained to 20 Minutes. “Many did not see the point of wasting a sheet of paper for a baguette. Elderly people did not have a printer or could not download it.”

Though not everyone is able to print out or download said certificate

The 27-year-old owner has already printed 20,000 bags that have an exceptional certificate on them. “Instead of coming once to buy six baguettes and freeze them, customers came back every day. In the bag, you can put up to three baguettes. Special breads can go in it too. And if this is not possible, we give the bag on request. The craftsman is also happy to avoid the waste of paper,” the owner told 20 Minutes.

According to Parisian, this idea might be implemented by other businesses as well. “I’ve been contacted by several bakers who want to do the same. I’m glad others share this,” the owner of the bakery told Parisian.
