One mum has revealed her very simple hack that gets overtired babies to sleep in a matter of seconds.
And don’t worry, you won’t need to go out and buy an expensive night light or rocking chair for this.
All you will need is a baby hat – yes, you heard that correctly.
The mum-of-two uploaded her clip to the video sharing platform with the caption ‘looks funny but homie passed right out’.
In the video, we see the mum, that has two children under the age of two, holding her baby boy asleep in her arms, with a dummy in his mouth and his hat pulled over his eyes.
She said: “Saw a baby hack that said if your baby is having a hard time falling asleep, pull their lil hat over their eyes.
“Worked like a charm.
“Out like a light”.
Leah’s video has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up a whopping 141.5k views.
It has 5,987 likes, 138 comments and 162 shares.
TikTok users were grateful for the tip and many revealed that their parents did this to them too.
One person said: “Thank you for sharing this beautiful hack! Mums need to see this”.
Another added: “Works instantly”.
A third commented: “Worked for my boys too just pull it back up once fast asleep”.
Someone else revealed: “My mom did this to me when I was a baby. I’m 28 and I can’t sleep without a blanket over my eyes”.
However, not everyone was as keen on the hack and the mum was forced to clarify that this technique is only to get a baby to sleep and the hat must be removed once they have fallen asleep.
One TikTok user advised: “Careful putting them down like this, it’s a suffocation hazard” to which Leah responded “Oh no, hust to help fall asleep initially…not to keep on”.
Another slammed: “Absolutely not!!! Turn the light off!!! Never let a baby sleep with a hat, bow, or bib on”.
A third added: “Noooo! The AAP guidelines say that babies should NOT sleep wearing hats!”
The TikTok mum stated: “Disclaimer: I never said let the baby sleep overnight with the hat.
“Just a simple trick to get them to sleep”.
