The service burst onto the scene amid the pandemic with the platform enjoying a surge in popularity during lockdowns.
However, that growth is now waning and millions of people are unsubscribing from streaming sites like Disney+ and Netflix.
With the cost of living crisis causing UK households feel the crunch, it comes as no surprise that people are looking to save money.
So, if you’ve bibbidi-bobbidi-binged the back-catalogue of Disney blockbusters and shows, cancelling your subscription is simple and quick to do.
Here’s exactly how to do it.
How to cancel your Disney Plus subscription
While it takes a little more than waving a magic wand, cancelling your Disney Plus subscription is easy and takes mere minutes.
You can resubscribe at any time and, even after cancelling, you can still access the full selection of content until your subscription runs out.
Follow these simple steps on your laptop’s web browser:
- Sign in to your Disney+ account at disneyplus.com
- On the right side of the screen, you’ll then see your profile name and icon. Click on this for a dropdown menu
- On the dropdown menu, click on ‘Account’
- In the ‘Subscription’ section of the Account page, you’ll see your membership type e.g. ‘Disney+ (Monthly)’. Click on this
- At the bottom of this page, you’ll see a ‘Cancel subscription’ button
- Upon clicking this, you’ll be asked the reason why you’d like to cancel
- After selecting your reason, select ‘Continue to cancel’
- You’ve now cancelled your account and will receive an email confirming your cancellation
For those who access Disney Plus via a mobile or tablet:
- Once logged in, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap the ‘Manage Account’ link
- Find the ‘subscriptions’ heading at the bottom of the page
- Select the ‘billing details’ link
- Click the ‘cancel subscription’ link in the ‘Disney Plus subscription’ section
- Select the ‘Complete Cancellation’ button
- You should then receive a confirmation email confirming the cancellation
What is the cheapest Disney Plus subscription price?
If heartwarming movies, nature documentaries and more aren’t enough to keep you forking out for your subscription, there is another option.
While the monthly Disney+ subscription option costs £7.99 per month, you can save money by opting for the annual membership subscription, which costs £79.90.
It means you’ll be saving £15.98 each year, which works out to two months of free access.
Unlike other subscription services, Disney Plus doesn’t have tiered pricing options. So, aside from monthly or annual choices, there’s no other way to save money on your subscription.
