Miracle boy, 7, thrown from Tate Modern balcony ‘defying doctors’ predictions’ as he makes recovery from 100ft fall

A YOUNG boy thrown 100ft from the tenth floor of the Tate Modern is now “contradicting doctors’ predictions” as he makes a recovery.

The seven-year-old was left with a broken back, fractures to his limbs and a bleed on the brain after the horror in August 2019.

The boy was thrown 100ft from the balcony at the Tate

He was also forced to spend two months in intensive care and left unable to speak or eat.

His French mum and dad dubbed their son their “little knight” as they revealed previously he could only smile to communicate.

But recent improvements to his condition mean he can go outside in a wheelchair and show love for them by giving them kisses.

His family have now told how the youngster is continuing his miracle recovery and making huge improvements.

In a statement on a fundraising page, they said: “He manages to put his leg splints on his own (we just have to check that they are put correctly).

“He holds the standing position longer and continues to gain little by little in balance. He continues to fall, but less (and of course we catch him up!).

“His breath is also improving, this can be heard in his voice which is gaining in power. Phrases where he communicates only in monosyllables tend to be spaced out.”

The family also revealed how the boy can throw a small ball with his left hand as they welcome each improvement.

They added: “We are always happy to see new movements. Even if it contradicts the predictions of some doctors, it proves that he will never lose hope!

“Finally, for the first time, we were able to take him to a park.

“Until now we had avoided this place – upsetting for us and frustrating for him – where he could have done nothing but watch the other children play.”

Jonty Bravery was jailed for life in 2020 after pleading guilty to attempted murder.

He chillingly just shrugged and laughed after the boy plummeted head first to the ground.

Bravery – then aged 17 – told the boy’s dad, who believed the horror attack was a “joke” until he saw his son’s mangled body below: “Yes, I am mad.”

He later told a staff member: “I think I’ve murdered someone, I’ve just thrown someone off the balcony.”

When Bravery, from Ealing, West London, was arrested he told police he had travelled to the London gallery with the intention of hurting someone so he could be on the TV news that evening.

He said: “I wanted to be on the news, who I am and why I did it, so when it is official no-one can say anything else.”

The teen also laughed at harrowing CCTV of the attack and said he felt “on top of the world”.

Bravery then said he heard voices tell him he had to hurt or kill people and wanted to prove a point “to every idiot” who said he didn’t have mental health issues.
