A former associate of disgraced US financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been detained in France.
French modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, 74, was held in Paris on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment.
Police arrested him at Paris’s Charles de Gaulle airport before he boarded a plane to Senegal.
Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan jail last August while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

The Paris prosecutor said Brunel was not charged with any human trafficking offences.
The magistrate decided there was not enough evidence to rule on that count, but he was not acquitted and could be charged in future if anything new emerges.
Brunel was suspected of having raped, assaulted and harassed several minor and adult victims as well as having organised transport and hosting of young women for Epstein, the prosecutor said.
Under French law, an investigation may or may not lead to a trial.

Reports suggest he was quizzed about his links to a host of figures, including Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew.
One of the Duke of York’s accusers, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, claims to have had ‘sexual relations with Brunel on several occasions’ between the ages of 16 and 19, according to legal papers filed in America and France.
Both Prince Andrew and Brunel deny wrongdoing and there is no suggestion the Duke is linked to the offences the Frenchman is charged with.
Metro.co.uk has attempted to contact the Duke for comment.
Brunel co-founded the Karin Models agency in the 1990s and founded MC2 Model Management in the United States with Epstein.
In August 2019, Paris’ chief prosecutor opened a preliminary inquiry into whether Epstein committed sex crimes on French territory or against French girls.
