Donald Trump told Vice President Mike Pence he was a ‘pussy’ for failing to back his attempts to remain in office, it was claimed. Addressing Pence last Wednesday, the President of the United States is said to have told him: ‘You can either go down in history as a patriot, or you can go down in history as a pussy.’
The row erupted over Pence’s refusal to overturn Joe Biden’s election win at a certification hearing at the US Senate last Wednesday, which ultimately triggered a deadly riot.
According to The New York Times, the president and vice president spoke for the first time since the riots on Monday, amid claims Pence was outraged by how Trump has treated him.
White House officials claimed their hour-long meeting was ‘good,’ although off-the-record sources said the get-together had been ‘stilted’ and ‘non-substantiative.’

Last Wednesday’s riots kicked off after President Trump addressed thousands of supporters at a ‘Save America’ rally. That saw him repeatedly needle Pence to ‘do the right thing’, and claim that only his vice president could ‘save’ the US.
Hundreds of his supporters went on to storm the US Capitol in a deadly riot which saw five killed, including a police officer struck by a fire extinguisher. Some of those rioters were heard chanting ‘Hang Pence.’
The vice president was evacuated to a secure location, while President Trump sent tweets which stopped short of calling-off his supporters.
Pence has since refused to use the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution to remove Trump from office. The House of Representatives will vote on whether to impeach Trump again on Wednesday morning.
The president will be replaced by Joe Biden next Wednesday.
An impeachment conviction would see him removed from office, or banned from running again if the trial concludes after Trump has left office.
