A fearless woman was spotted hitching a ride on the back of a huge Walmart truck and holding on just like a passenger would on a bus. The joyrider was filmed casually clinging to the back of the semi as it trundled through Texarkana, Arkansas, on Wednesday.
She did not appear to be at all perturbed or distressed by her dangerous form of transport. CheyAnne Lyn spotted the woman while driving, and began filming. She said: ‘I really just wanted to follow her, but not too close, because I was scared she was gonna fall off.
‘My friend that was with me, he actually rolled the window down and he was yelling at her like, “Hey, what are you doing girl, you’re crazy!” And, all she did was turn around and look at him. She didn’t say anything. She looked serious the whole time. So, I mean, I think she might’ve done it a couple of times before.’
Lyn told KMSS that the woman ‘disembarked’ after the truck stopped at a red light – shortly before the heavy goods vehicle hit the busy, four-lane Interstate 30. She added: ‘At the time, I was laughing, but I was worried about her. So I really hope people don’t think it’s a good idea because it’s not.’
Lyn posted the video on social media afterwards, where it has subsequently been shared thousands of times by shocked internet users.
Texarkana Police condemned the woman’s behavior as extremely dangerous, and say it constitutes disorderly conduct and trespassing – a charge that could carry up to a year in jail, as well as a $1,000 fine.
Corporal Kelly Pilgreen said: ‘It could’ve caused an accident. She could’ve lost her life, and could’ve caused a major accident where other people could’ve been harmed.’
