CHELSEA are interested in signing Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi, according to reports.
The European champions are unable to sign on loan Juventus star Federico Chiesa and see Berardi as an alternative.

According to Italian website Alfredo Pedulla, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund have expressed an interest in signing Berardi.
The 26-year-old was part of Italy’s successful Euro 2020 squad after scoring 17 Serie A goals for Sassuolo last term.
Berardi has spent his entire club career at Sassuolo, helping the Italian win Serie B in 2013 before stabilising them in the top flight.
It’s claimed Chelsea were initially interested in Chiesa, but he is halfway through a two-year loan deal at Juventus from Fiorentina.
The 23-year-old played a starring role in Italy’s European triumph, scoring his country’s equaliser in the semi-final against Spain.
Dortmund, meanwhile, are thought to have placed Berardi on a shortlist along with two or three other players.
And West Ham have reportedly inquired about the Italian striker, who’s valued at €40million – around £34.5m.
Other Premier League sides have also been linked with Berardi this summer, including Liverpool and Tottenham.
A new striker is believed to be Chelsea’s main priority in the transfer window, with a £135m bid for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland expected.
The Blues are also thought to be in talks with Robert Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi about a possible transfer.
And Chelsea are reportedly interested in Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic as an alternative to Haaland and Lewandowski.
